1. Electronic RFID/NFC Fobs & Tag
These devices use proximity technology to trigger an electronic or magnetic lock. They are commonly used for apartments, offices, gyms, and smart home locks.

  • Frequency Compatibility: This is the most critical factor. Most systems use either 125kHz (standard proximity) or 13.56MHz (NFC/Mifare). They are not cross-compatible, so you must match the frequency of your existing reader.
  • Rewritable vs. Read-Only:
    • Read-Only: These come with a unique, pre-programmed ID that must be registered in your lock's management system.
    • Rewritable/T5577: These can be "cloned" using a handheld RFID copier to duplicate an existing working key.
  • Includes Programing
